Crackletop Maple Cookies Recipe contributed by Jo Ann Gadway, Gadway's Sugarhouse, Norwood, New York   Ingredients: 1 cup butter 1 cup New York Maple Syrup 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 cup New York Maple Sugar 1 teaspon vanilla a dash of salt 1 egg 4 cups flour Method: Cream butter and maple sugar. Add egg, syrup and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Beat well. Chill. Shape into balls about 1" in diameter (or larger). Roll in granulated maple sugar. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes.
