Sourdough & Sausage Stuffing Baked in a Cast Iron Dutch Oven

Here is the fantastically delicious and super easy recipe from Le Creuset for Sourdough & Sausage Stuffing

 

Cube 1 Loaf Sourdough Bread and Bake at 350º until dry and slightly crispy

Sauté in a 5-1/2 Quart Round Dutch Oven:

2 Tbsp Butter

3 Stalks Celery sliced

2 Yellow Onions sliced

½ Butternut Squash cubed

1 cup Creminis sliced (immature portobello mushroom before cap has opened)

Freshly ground Salt and Pepper

1-pound Sausage

1 each Granny Smith and Fuji Apples, cubed

2 Tbsp Thyme

Add and stir well:

Baked Sourdough Cubes

1-1/2 cups Chicken Stock

½ cup Dried Cranberries

Bake at 350º in the uncovered Dutch Oven about 1 hour
