POTSDAM, NY - June 1, 2011 - Maple Run Emporium at 49 Market Street in Potsdam, New York, has launched its website shopping cart and is offering 10% off all online purchases during the month of June. Shoppers will find more than 200 products available at www.MapleRunEmporiums.com.

Designed by Keenpixel of Potsdam and hosted by Shopify, a world-class e-commerce platform for over 10,000 online businesses, the Maple Run site is secure to use, easy to navigate, and features a streamlined checkout.

To make purchases, on the Home page customers simply click "Shop Maple Run" to see the various categories, select one, and begin adding products to their cart. Categories include Made in New York, Pancakes & Mixes, Condiments, Syrup, Kitchenware, Jam, Jelly & Toppings, Cookies, Candy, & Snacks, Coffee & Tea, Books, and Sugar, Spices & Extract. To receive the 10% discount, at checkout shoppers type in the code "MAPLE."
ade In New York features some of New York State's best maple products sourced from local producers in Potsdam, Canton, and Norwood, plus merchandise created in Tupper Lake, Harpersfield, Craryville, and Syracuse.   Maple Run owner Mary Hilton noted that since opening in April, customers have regularly asked about shopping online and shipping merchandise to friends and family that live out-of-state. Additionally, for native North Country people now living in other areas the site provides access to products "from back home."      Most of the local producers who sell their products at Maple Run do not have their own websites or online shopping carts, so the Maple Run site is an online showcase for their merchandise. "Having the online shopping cart will help grow the Maple Run customer base nationally and will increase our purchasing volume from the local vendors. It's a win-win situation for all of us," pointed out Ms. Hilton.

In addition to New York gourmet and specialty foods, the website also features Maple Run Emporium's line of scented scrubs, candles and body lotions in Maple & Lavender and Maple & Rum, plus the Chef's line of Maple & Rosemary products including a cleaner, dish soap, hand soap, hand cream, and soy candle. The products are handcrafted exclusively for Maple Run by SunFeather Natural Soap Co. of Potsdam. "These products are currently only available at the Market Street shop. Now that we have them online, people from around the world have access to them," noted Ms. Hilton.

Also available on www.MapleRunEmporiums.com is merchandise from other maple-producing states including Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Maine, plus kitchenware from internationally known companies such as J.K. Adams, Bodum, Nordic Ware, and The Culinary Institute of America.

"We have everything you'd need to prepare a classic gourmet maple breakfast or barbecue, or a great gift basket," said Ms. Hilton. Some of the fine kitchenware includes stainless steel bowls, utensils, griddles, maple wood cutting boards, espresso makers, and specialty pancake and muffin pans.

A text box at checkout provides a means for customers to communicate their special requests, such as instructions for gift wrapping or creating a gift basket presentation.

In addition to the promotional 10% introductory discount, Maple Run is working with the social media outlets to promote the new shopping cart.

"We're looking forward to building the online presence of Maple Run Emporium through the various social media outlets and other promotional opportunities," explained Ryan Meashaw, Maple Run Emporium's Marketing & Creative Director. "So far we're using Facebook, Twitter, foursquare, paper.li, and Google Places."

Ms. Hilton noted that providing a special offer to launch the shopping cart is not only an incentive to invite online shoppers but also an opportunity to show Maple Run's appreciation for its customers. "Offering this 10% discount for the whole month of June is our way of saying 'Thanks' to customers for helping us launch the shopping cart," said Ms. Hilton.  "It's a new convenience we're happy to offer and we're pleased to be able to give shoppers a break on prices."

Maple Run Emporium at 49 Market Street is open daily from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. The online store is always open. Visit www.MapleRunEmporiums.com.
