Putting this french toast breakfast together takes no time at all and is always a hit. Give it a little extra crunch by sprinkling sugar on top, it forms a nice sweet crust. Make the strawberry sauce by stewing sliced berries with a little bit of maple syrup until they are soft. The berry sauce is the perfect summer touch!

Ingredients;

4 slices thickly cut bread

2 eggs

1/4 cup milk

1 pinch cinnamon

2 teaspoons sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 cup sliced strawberries

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1. Whisk the eggs, milk and cinnamon together in a bowl. Dip the bread in the egg mixture and allow it to permeate the bread completely.

2. Warm the butter in a frying pan over medium heat and swirl it around so it coats the bottom of the pan. Drop the bread in the pan on one side and cook until it is lightly brown. Sprinkle the tops of the french toast with some of the sugar. Flip the bread and cook the sugared side until lightly browned, sprinkle the top of the french toast with the rest of the sugar. Remove from the pan, slice into fingers.

3. To make the strawberry sauce warm the sliced berries and maple syrup until they come together and form a smooth sauce. Pour over the fingers and serve.
