As one of the Fright Night participating businesses, Maple Run Emporium treated children to wrapped samples of “Tapped Maple Caramels” from McCrea’s Candies, a 2015 Finalist for Martha Stewart American Made Food. Parents accompanying their children had the opportunity to enter the Maple Run Emporium drawing.
Mr. Kenyon, who works in the Emergency Room at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, was able to take Kayleigh to Fright Night for about an hour before he was due at work.
“It’s nice for the kids to be able to go around and do an early trick or treating,” he said. “It’s also nice to see the businesses you might not otherwise visit.”
Mary Hilton, owner of Maple Run Emporium, presented the Happy Halloween Gift Bag to Mr. Kenyon in her shop on October 28. “I wanted to do something special for the parents who come out with their kids on Fright Night,” Ms. Hilton said. “It’s a fun event for the children and the drawing was a little treat for the moms and dads.”
In the gift bag were specialties from Maple Run Emporium: Maple Caramel Corn by Hutchinson’s Candy; Tapped Maple Caramels by McCrea’s Candies; a Maple Bacon Chocolate Bar by Chuao Chocolatier; and Maple Creams by Barkeater Chocolates.
Kayleigh, a second grader at Colton-Pierrepont Central School, accompanied her father to pick up the gift bag. On Fright Night, Kayleigh dressed as a Power Ranger and she plans to wear the costume again on Halloween Night, October 31.
